Either Barcelona and Real Madrid‘s dream of signing Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund could well become reality, with the LaLiga Santander sides well placed to beat competition from Premier League counterparts.
Haaland, who could yet stay on at Dortmund for another season after this current campaign, has been linked with each side of the Clasico rivalry as well as Bayern Munich, Manchester City, and others.
“He doesn’t like the Premier League much,” Sky Sport Italia’s transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio said. “It’s not exactly his dream.”
Di Marzio continued, explaining that LaLiga Santander is seen as “the perfect environment for him to play in,” while admitting that staying in the Bundesliga is also a good option.
“Even if they sign [Kylian] Mbappe, Real Madrid would be an option.”
Barcelona are in desperate need of a forward since Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, and Antoine Griezmann all departed over the last 18 months, and could turn to the Norwegian in the summer even with Ferran Torres‘ arrival set to be confirmed imminently.
Haaland‘s agent Mino Raiola recently left the door open for a move to the Camp Nou, insisting that they would bounce back from their current financial troubles, also saying that “Erling must take the next big step,” listing “Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Barcelona, and [Manchester] City” as the clubs he could go to.
