Conte and Tuchel give their sides of their heated brawl: A lot of things weren’t necessary

Thomas Tuchel and Antonio Conte were asked about their coming-togethers during Chelsea and Tottenham‘s 2-2 draw on Sunday.

The Chelsea coach was a little more explicit in his speech, while Conte did not want to go into the incident that has was the standout of the game.

“I thought that when we shake hands you have to look each other in the eye and Antonio has a different opinion,” Tuchel told Sky Sports.

“It was a temperamental thing. He was happy for the draw, I was a bit upset, but nothing more.

“I don’t know if I got a red card? I think… it was not necessary, but many other things were not necessary. Another poor decision by the referee today.”

For his part, the Tottenham coach explained that he preferred to discuss the match itself.

“The best thing is to talk about the game, and the game was a bit crazy, a complicated game for both teams,” Conte detailed.

“We try in every game to be competitive. I don’t want to comment on what happened because it’s not the most important thing.

“If there is a problem, the problem is between me and him. Not with the others.”

Tuchel and Conte were involved in an unfortunate tussle. This included Conte celebrating the 1-1 draw in Tuchel‘s face, the German running down the touchline at 2-1 and the two grappling when they went to shake hands at the end of the match.
