Crystal Palace vs Norwich | Premier League: First half treble sees Crystal Palace sink Norwich

Crystal Palace moved into the top half of the Premier League table, while Norwich remain rooted to the bottom after the capital city side earned a 3-0 victory at Selhurst Park on Tuesday afternoon. Three goals inside the first half were enough to earn the three points, a result Patrick Vieira will have cheered on from home, where he is self-isolating as a result of COVID-19.

It was Odsonne Edouard who scored the opener just eight minutes in and he did so from the penalty spot, converting after Kenny McLean had fouled Will Hughes.

There was a delay in the middle of the first half as a result of a problem with the referee’s technology, but Palace picked up where they left off to go 2-0 up, as Jean-Philippe Mateta turned the ball in from close range from an Edouard assist.

It was Edouard who set up the third and final goal too, teeing up Jeffrey Schlupp for a clinical finish.

Neither side created too much in the second half, although it was always Palace who looked more likely to score a would be fourth goal of the game.
