Premier League sponsor 2022: Who sponsors the Premier League?

Actualizado

No competition around the world is making more revenue than the English Premier League, who have been selling their TV rights for whopping figures and have managed to strike lucrative deals with huge brands who are acting as official partners.

Several brands have become the Premier League’s main title sponsors since it was first established back in 1992.

Who sponsors the Premier League?

Carling Brewery and Barclays have been the two main Premier League partners for several years, but back in 2016 the league announced a change of sponsorship strategy.

From that point on, the competition would be named ‘The Premier League’, as no titles sponsorship would be accepted for the following years.

“Barclays has been an excellent partner for the league throughout their sponsorship of the competition and we look forward to working with them in 2015/16, the final season of their title sponsorship,” a Premier League spokesperson said at the time, as reported by ESPN.

The Premier League signed a four-year deal with Carling back in 1993 and then they extended their collaboration with the brewing company until 2001.

Barclays put pen to paper on a three-year title sponsorship deal in 2001 and formed a partnership with the Premier League until 2013.

“Barclays has been an important partner to the Premier League, since 2001/02, initially as the title sponsor and now as the Official Banking Partner,” the bank stress on their website.

“During this time, the Premier League has grown to become a global phenomenon as the most successful football league in the world, whilst supporting many of our businesses around the UK.”

Meanwhile, EA Sports is acting as the Premier League’s lead partner, with Budweiser the competition’s official beer, Castrol their official engine oil partner, Hublot their timekeeper, Nike their official ball and Oracle their official cloud partner.
