Rangers touching tribute to Queen Elizabeth during Champions League

Rangers held a minute’s silence in memory of Queen Elizabeth II and sang the British national anthem – despite not receiving permission from UEFA to make the tribute – before their Champions League game against Napoli on Wednesday.

European football’s governing body had stated that Champions League matches played in Great Britain this week should not include “any celebratory activities.”

Rangers went on to lose 3-0 – conceding all three goals in the final quarter of the match – and remain bottom of the Group A standings.
