Serie A: Pogba returns to Juventus

Paul Pogba has signed for Juventus for the second time in his career after his contract with Manchester United expired on June 30.

He made the same move in 2012, when he was a promising 19-year-old whom Sir Alex Ferguson was unable to convince to stay at United.

He returns to Turin a decade later, after a six-year adventure at Old Trafford that was a struggle after the Red Devils paid 105 million euros for him in 2016. He signs, this time, until 2026.

Injury problems

At 29 years of age, and after a season marked by a lack of consistency and multiple injuries (he played just 1,716 minutes in 26 games with one goal and nine assists), Pogba has signed for Juve for four seasons. He returns to the team where he enjoyed his best football.

Pogba previously played 117 games, scoring 34 goals and providing 40 assists between 2012 and 2016, winning four Serie As, two Coppa Italias and two Supercoppa Italianas. He also played in one Champions League final in 2015.

Now, the Old Lady want to bring him back to being decisive again. Massimiliano Allegri, with whom Pogba spent his last two seasons at Juve, will be able to count on a midfielder of great quality.

Along with the signing of Angel Di Maria, the French midfielder will give Juve the extra experience they need to get back to winning ways in Serie A and get past the last 16 in the Champions League.
