Sevilla 1-1 Barcelona: Goals and highlights – LaLiga 21/22

Sevilla host Barcelona on Tuesday evening knowing that victory would take them within three points of leaders Real Madrid. The Andalusians enter the game on the back of a late win over Atletico Madrid, while the Blaugrana eventually managed to overcome Elche on Saturday, meaning that both sides will be high on morale. It finishes all square at the Sanchez Pizjuan, although Barcelona may leave the more disappointed of the two.

Minute 85: Dembele hits the post!

The Frenchman cuts onto his left foot and unleashes a curling strike towards the far corner but is denied by the post.

Minute 81: What a chance for Gavi!

Abde picks out Gavi in the box but the youngster guides the header wide when he really should’ve scored.

Minute 64: Kounde sees red!

In a moment of madness, Kounde reacts to Alba’s nudge by throwing the ball at the full-back’s face, for which the Frenchman receives a straight red card.

Minute 62: Abde wastes a decent chance

Abde receives the ball on the edge of the box, cuts onto his left foot before striking towards goal. But it goes well over the bar.

Minute 52: Delaney heads over

Delaney finds himself unmarked from a corner but his header goes over the bar.

Minute 46: Second half starts

We’re back underway.

HALF TIME

It’s been a half of two corners so far, as Papu Gomez, with his right foot, put Sevilla ahead before Araujo, with his head, brought Barcelona level just before the half-time whistle.

Minute 45: Araujo levels the game!

Barcelona are level, and also from a corner. Araujo leaps highest to head into the far corner, just before the break.

Minute 32: Gomez scores!

A well worked corner from Sevilla finds Papu Gomez in space who neatly tucks the ball into the corner.

Minute 30: Bono denies Dembele

Dembele cuts inside from the right and has a go with his left foot, which Bono saves but spills, before Ocampos arrives to clear the ball.

Minute 21: Mir scores… but it’s ruled out

A long ball from Diego Carlos finds Rafa Mir who expertly controls with one touch and then finishes with another. But the flag is raised and it does not count.

Minute 12: Jutgla tries his luck

Jutgla carries the ball forward while the Sevilla defence retreats and retreats. The youngster tries his luck from distance but drives the shot wide.

Sevilla start with Delaney in midfield as Fernando moves to centre-back, with Kounde seemingly filling in the troubled right back spot.

It’s another youthful looking line-up for Barcelona, with Jutgla retaining his place and Gavi and Abde also starting. Gerard Pique returns from suspension.

Gerard Pique returns from suspension for Barcelona and is expected to return to the starting line-up. Meanwhile, Philippe Coutinho is back in contention but, with the form of Gavi and Nico Gonzalez, one expects the Brazilian to settle for a place on the bench.
